Today, we went over the case studies we examined this year. The student-generated list is attached.
We then discussed essay writing and problem areas so that they will have greater success on both their Social Studies and English exams.
They are writing their essays tomorrow.

The students had this class to work on completing their editorials. I am actually okay with them getting them to me by the beginning of class tomorrow.
I also handed out a list of possible essay questions (it will be a source based response exam), which should help them understand the direction the part A portion (written) will take on Thursday. The part A is Thursday and the Part B (multiple choice) is scheduled for Tuesday, January 26, at 1:00 pm.

Today, you handed in your answers relating to the articles you were given yesterdya. I then presented a powerpoint on Chapter 17, which examined change in the global sense.
You were then instructed to read Chapter 17 and answer the following questions:

2. Read the perspectives on page 361 and answer the three quesitons on the second page.

Today, we discussed Maquiladoras and Slavery in relation to sweatshops. There were three articles given: "Slave Labour Still a Global Problem", "Sweatshop Myth-Busters", and "Mexican Workers Pay for Success with Their Jobs." They were then given questions to answer on these articles. These are due tomorrow (they are in your portfolios if you were not here).

Today, students answered questions regarding their weekend research. We then read the article "Two Cheers for Sweatshops" and they answered a question related to it. These were handed in. The questions have been inserted for both below.
